THE GOOD TIMES

Here is my story: 

 I was totally in love, when I saw them for the first time on Dutch television, it was in Toppop and from that time I knew my life has changed forever!!!!

 I became a super fan of Julie, Dominic, Martine, Paul, Thereze & David

all of them were special to me, but honestly, Julie was my favorite Doll.

15-10-1977 a very special day in my life. 30 years ago, 14 years old and my very first Guys 'n' Dolls concert at "Het Turfschip" in Breda (Holland).  The only sad news was that Thereze & David left the group, just a few weeks for the concert.

 There was a photo with six on the concert ticket, but they performed with four that evening: Julie, Dominic, Martine & Paul. Nevertheless it was a brilliant night-out, with songs like "a Whole lotta

loving", "You don't have to say you love me", "You're my world" and my

favorite Guys 'n' Dolls song ever: "Angel of the morning", and also the beautiful song "We're all alone" sung by Julie.

All dressed up in white with a red carnation and after the break in beautiful black & silver clothes. They look like "real" popstars and great as always to me. Anyway after 30 years the whole show is like a movie in my mind, the best movie I've ever seen. And I'm still that super fan of Guys 'n' Dolls and still collect everything of them and I know for sure it will last forever!

 LATEST REUNION NEWS FROM OLAF

I was in a hurry this morning, because at 7 o'clock I woke up and thought it's the 21st of May, exactly 2 months after 'Man bijt Hond',
so it could be my lucky day! So I took a shower, dress myself, eat something and phoned 'Omroep Brabant' if the interview with Guys 'n' Dolls was in Eindhoven or in Breda. They told me it was in Eindhoven (3 quarters from here). So I rushed to the studio. Anyway it was a wonderful morning with Julie, Dominic & Martine in the studio. But what a terrible news about Paul. Hope he's going better now! The short interview with me was a complete surprise for me, but nice. Cindy, the girl who did the interview asked me if she could also ask me some questions too, so I did.

Friday 21st of March, the day Edwin & I met each other 13 years ago, he beginning of the Spring and if that's not enough: THE REUNION OF GUYS 'N' DOLLS. The day we're going to meet them all together as they began in 1974. Julie, Dominic, Martine, Paul, Thereza & David. The day starts at 6 o'clock that morning (the sleeping pill I took was just a waist of time, I couldn't close my eyes cause they were on my mind)

Edwin had a day of for this very special day so we could have breakfast
together and we had plenty of time, because the crew of 'Man bijt Hond' had an appointment with us at 2 pm. So the whole morning we had time to check everything, like: what are we going to wear, what are we going to say, you know all those kind of things especially when your nervous.

After waiting and waiting the phone rings at 02.15 pm and the 'Man Bijt Hond' crew calls, the traffic was so busy that it takes at least half an hour to reach our home. So at 3.00 pm they arrived. First of all coffee, a quick talk and than: Showtime'!!!! A short view at the videotape of the playbackshow I joined in 1983, an interview and some shots in my 'Guys ?n? Dolls' room to show a little part of my collection and a shot of Edwin & I in the car to Breukelen.

At 6.00 o'clock pm we arrived at the 'Van der Valk Hotel', a few minutes away from the BIG MOMENT. And yes a few moments later: hugs, kisses, shaking hands and lots of memories to share. The moment I'll never ever forget, for the first time in my life they all were there, right in front of me, a very special moment I can't describe, but a moment that feels so very good!

We only made a few photo's because we don't want to make pictures all the time and I was waiting for this moments for ages, so it's better to enjoy it and share good memories.

After a few drinks with the group, they had a photo session for the website and other promotional things. As a make-up artists I did a lot of photo shoots, but this was a very special one for me. After the professional session the long awaited picture of Guys 'n' Dolls and me (and as always I had my eyes closed), but I like the picture very much, of course!

And at that moment Julie said: Olaf we're gonna sing a song for you, come closer and sing with us. That moment was too much for me , because they sang a very very special song for us "Angel of the morning" and I was very emotional hearing our special song. They also sang "You're my world" and it all brings back very good memories.

And if that's not enough, we had a delicious dinner all together and had a lot of joy. For us this was THE MOMENT and THE GOOD TIMES were back again. We hope you all enjoyed the "Man bijt Hond" show and we're very glad we can watch it time after time, cause this happens only once in a life time!
